  • Assisted in the facilitation of a financial literacy education boot camp for 20 girls from ages 13 to 18.

  • Facilitated financial literacy activities that educated girls on budgeting, credit management, and financial planning.

  • Volunteered with program directors 3 hours daily during week-long boot camp geared to at-risk youth.

 

Project Panther LIFE  l  Miami, FL  

Academic Mentor                                                                                                                           August 2016 – May 2017

  • Fostered independence and encouraged effective study skills in college students with learning disabilities.

  • Help to maintain a positive academic environment and assist students with assignments in courses as assigned throughout the school year.

  • Tutored and mentored two students each for 4 hours throughout two 16-week school semesters.

 

 FIU Alternative Breaks  l  Miami, FL / Georgetown, Guyana

Program Participant and Youth At-Risk Volunteer                                                                    August 2016 – May 2017

  • Expanded teamworking skills working with a group of 7 students to fundraise $9,000 budget throughout the school year for a week-long service trip.

  • Fundraised total budget by bake sales and holding donation drives.

  • Visited a school throughout our week of service for 5 hours daily and conducted career planning activities with children from age 10 to 13.

  • Facilitated team building activities and life skill workshops for 4 hours daily with children living at Joshua House Orphanage throughout the week.

 

FIU Dance Marathon  l  Miami, FL                                                                                                May 2016 – May 2017

Biscayne Bay Campus Liaison

  • Represents and recruits for the Dance Marathon organization on FIU's Biscayne Bay Campus.

  • Recruitment from this campus doubled from an average of 8 students attending yearly to 18 students

  • Aided 18 students in meeting their fundraising goals of $100 for the marathon event

  • Acquired transportation from the Student Government Association for attending students.

  • Individually fundraised $646 and organization raised $100,000 in total for Nicklaus Children’s' Hospital.

 

FIU Undergraduate Education  l  Miami, FL

First-Year Experience Peer Mentor                                                                                              August 2015 - August 2016

  • Guided 25 students as they transitioned and adjusted into their first semester in college.

  • Lead weekly group activities and discussions relating to topics on professor’s lesson plan.

  • Worked 3 hours a week for three16-week long semesters in the classroom.

  • Served as a student resource for students inside and outside of the classroom.

  • Promoted social activities to students to aid them in exploring school programs and gaining friendship
